Baggage is usually the deciding factor

When to fly

Fares peak around Eid, the summer school holidays and the December wedding season — which are, unhelpfully, exactly when most people want to travel. If your dates have any flexibility at all, moving by a week either side of those peaks can change the price substantially.

Weather-wise, October to March is the comfortable window in Punjab and the north. June and July are extremely hot before the monsoon breaks.

Visas and documents

Belgian passport holders need a visa for Pakistan. If you hold a Pakistani passport or a NICOP/POC card, the requirements differ — and if family are travelling in the other direction to visit you in Belgium, that is a Schengen visit visa with its own set of requirements on the sponsor here.
