Dubai is the easiest long-haul trip from Belgium — direct flights from Brussels, no jet lag worth mentioning, and it works as a week-long holiday, a three-night stopover, or the second half of an Umrah trip.
Do you need a visa for Dubai?
Belgian passport holders do not need a visa in advance for a short tourist stay — entry is granted on arrival. If you hold a different passport and live in Belgium, the answer depends on your nationality, and some nationalities do need a visa arranged before travel. We check this before booking anything, because it is the one thing that cannot be fixed at the airport.
Flights from Brussels to Dubai
There are direct services from Brussels, and connecting options that are often cheaper if you are flexible on total journey time. Direct is around six and a half hours.
If Dubai is a stopover on the way to Pakistan or as an extension to Umrah, the routing usually costs little more than the direct return — the Gulf carriers connect through there anyway. Ask us to price it as a multi-city rather than two separate trips.
When to go — and the months to avoid
November to March is the season: warm, dry, and comfortable to walk around in. This is also when prices are highest and hotels fill, particularly around Christmas and New Year.
July and August are brutally hot — regularly over 45°C — and much of the day is spent indoors. Hotel rates collapse accordingly, so if you are travelling with a pool-and-mall itinerary in mind and can handle the heat, summer is genuinely good value. With young children or elderly parents, it is not.
Where to stay, by what you actually want
Downtown and Business Bay put you next to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall — best for a first visit and for getting around without a car. Jumeirah Beach Residence and Palm Jumeirah are the beach options and cost more. Deira and Bur Dubai are older, cheaper, closer to the souks and the creek, and much better value if you are not tied to a beach.
Combining Dubai with Umrah
This is one of the most common trips we build from Belgium: a few days in Dubai either side of Umrah, using the same Gulf carrier for both legs. It adds far less to the fare than people expect, and it turns a demanding trip into one with some rest in it.
